SAN JOSE, Calif., July 24, 2001 – Epson Electronics America
(EEA), a world leader in energy saving electronic devices (ICs, LCD
displays and crystals/quartz devices) announced that its Environmental
Management System has been registered as compliant with the
International Organization for Standardization (ISO )14001.
ISO 14001 specifies the requirements for an Environmental Management
System, the tools an organization uses to control the impact of its
activities, products or services on the environment. By working to meet
the internationally recognized standards of ISO 14001, EEA demonstrates
its commitment to the environment, improvement of the organization’s
management and fulfillment of established guidelines. EEA’s achievement
is a direct result of the entire organization working together to
effectively develop and maintain the Environmental Management System to
meet the technical requirements for registration.
Compliance with ISO is a voluntary practice designed to enhance the
quality of trade between businesses by improving the development,
manufacture and supply of products and services more efficiently,
safely and cleaner. Audited by an independent certification body Bureau
Veritas Quality International (BVQI), EEA’s registration to ISO 14001
is valid for three years.
